Driver App Privacy
This section applies specifically to drivers who use the CloseBy Towing Driver App. We collect additional information to facilitate job dispatch, tracking, and service delivery.

- Driver Profile: Profile photo, vehicle information, and driver status
βBiometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)
- Optional Authentication: On-device biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) may be used solely to unlock a driver account more quickly and securely
- No Biometric Data Collection: CloseBy Towing does not collect, store, process, or have access to any biometric data or face images
- Device-Level Security: All biometric verification is handled entirely by the device's operating system and Apple's Secure Enclave. The app only receives a simple "success" or "failure" result
- User Control: Drivers may disable Face ID / Touch ID for the app at any time in their device settings
βLocation Tracking
- Real-Time GPS: Your location is tracked in real-time during active jobs for dispatch coordination
- Dispatcher Access: Location data is shared with dispatchers to assign nearby jobs efficiently
- Background Location: When you are on duty, the app may access your location in the background to provide accurate ETAs and job assignments
Note: Location tracking is only active when you are logged into the app and on duty. You can go off duty at any time to stop location sharing.
βJob Photos & Documentation
- Photo Capture: Photos taken through the app for job documentation (vehicle condition, location verification)
- Secure Storage: Photos are securely stored in Firebase Storage with encryption
- Job Records: Photos are attached to job records for service verification and dispute resolution
βPush Notifications
- FCM Tokens: We store Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens to send you job alerts and updates
- Notification Types: New job assignments, job updates, dispatch messages, and system announcements
- Preferences: You can manage notification settings within the app or your device settings
